"A goal without a plan is just a wish” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
My idea is to see countries I have not seen before, meet people I would normally not talk to and eat food that I am not familiar with and what I did not want to do is to spent my time in the Dog.O.Mobil eating miles on the road
I realized that my journey does not start in April when I get on the road, but a few months before.
I do not need to know everything, however certain things I curios to know upfront such as
- Can I achieve my trip in 6 months without spending all days on the road
- What is worth exploring that is not listed on the Tripadvisor Top 10 lists
- What would my friends and colleagues recommend
- How much time does it take to get some appreciation for a country
So I have started to put monuments and cities on my wish list. In addition, I thought about hiking tours in the mountains and by the sea. Other outdoor activities such as biking or cooking ended as well up on my list.
As the gas price increases day by day, I thought about alternatives to go everywhere by van and developed the idea to identify a base in a region and explore the area by bike and hence exploring can be more ecological and less costly!
Going out on my own gives me the chance to be surprised while discovering and encountering. With a little preparation I thought, this should be possible without any problems.
And hence I drafted this plan in Furkot.com

The Dog.O.Mobil was only a little dusty when I picked it up near the airport. Jose Luiz, the owner, had even sent me a video that weekend. He took his job seriously.
