After 4 weeks at home I left today <10.08>. It started at 31 degrees and a bright blue sky
Decided to spend a night in the Alps on the way to the Maremma. I was look for the night when I would not fall asleep at 28 degrees and waiting for the cool breeze.
I have never driven over the pass on the Great Saint Bernard, only through the tunnel. The ascent to the pass on the Swiss side is not very spectacular, there are a few hairpin bends and a reservoir, but I didn't stop. I had seen relatively few cars during the trip, so the pass itself was pretty crowded with cars, campers, motorcycles and even bicycles. I could have parked there, but I didn't want to stay there overnight.
I then checked out different pitches on the descent in Italy and really liked the 3rd one. On a mountain stream with a view of the Mont Fourchon
