Dog.O.Mobil in France

In June 2021 we wanted the Dog.O.Mobil, back then it was simply called the WoMo, to France 10 days with a stopover in Bussière-Badil to visit good friends.

In hindsight, I would call the motto of the tour - "escape from the rain". We arrived during the day having sun shine and within hours it changed to rain. The weather forecast was getting worse and worse and so we planned our next stop depending on the weather during the day.

A highlight of the first few days was Dole. A nice little sleepy town with free parking space on the Doubs. A disappointment was Vichy. It wasn't even worth taking pictures

For the next few days we were at the Grand Etang de St-Estèphe. Perfect to unwind and enjoy France without stress and tourists.

We escaped from the rain towards the Mediterranean and had a stopover in Brantôme en Périgord and Périgueux. But we spent the night 300 km further south near Albi. Castres was really a surprise but you can take pleasant pictures there

The picture below was taken in Beziers. The further south you go, the more expensive the pitches and the busier it was.

As I'm not really a Cote d'Azur fan, we narrowed it down to a little Camargue, flamingos and wine. But what was really charming and unknown to me until then was the region north of Mont Ventoux. There is no sea there, but rivers, stony beaches, peace and tranquility, good wine and beautiful little towns like Nyons
